Notes from the Editor's Desk

As some of you may know, I'm the faculty editor of Miracle Monocle, the University of Louisville's online literary journal. Our window for submissions is now open and I'm reading 20-50 poems, stories, and hybrid pieces every week. While it's true that the influx of materials to my digital desk can be overwhelming, I wouldn't trade it for any other kind of work. There's nothing quite like coming into contact with the live wire of literary invention. Despite all of the odds stacked against us, despite the distractions and distortions winking in our periphery, we somehow keep writing. And I love bearing witness to that. It renews my faith in humanity every day. Anyway, think about sending us some work. I have room on my desk for your words:
